2010 AGL Action Rescue Helicopter Charity Gala Ball

In late October, Novotel Twin Waters Resort was transformed into a glitzy and glamorous Hollywood celebration for the 2010 AGL Action Rescue Helicopter Charity Gala Ball. With delegates rubbing shoulders with Hollywood luminaries such as Marilyn Monroe, Mae West, James Dean and Errol Flynn, the red carpet event buzzed with delight and excitement. With Avcom Staging sponsoring the event and providing complimentary equipment and technical services for the worthy cause, this event was a rousing success raising over $100,000 for the exceptionally worthy cause.
Now one of the Sunshine Coast’s premier black tie functions, the proceeds of the annual fundraiser go towards keeping AGL Action Rescue Helicopter’s vital service operational. As a charity organisation, the generosity of local people and businesses ensure the continued existence of this life saving service. This year, over 120 local businesses heeded the call by supporting and donating hundreds of prizes that were auctioned and raffled over the course of the evening.
AGL Action Rescue Helicopter is a not for profit organisation dedicated to assisting sick and injured people in South East Queensland for over 30 years. Owned and operated by Sunshine Coast Helicopter Rescue Service Ltd, their rescue teams and support staff provide a vital aero-medical and rescue service which survives on the continued support and generosity of the Queensland State Government, sponsors, local media, businesses and individuals within the community.
During the night’s proceedings, the 600 guests were witness to a spectacle of sight, sound, entertainment and colour, as well as delicious food and fine wine. In addition to music provided by nine piece band Oz Hornz, entertainment by the comedian magician Phil Cass, and the talents of MC Paul Martell, Avcom Staging provided vivid sound, vision and lighting as well as exhilarating fireworks to kick off the night.
